Plataran Canggu Bali Resort & Spa

Plataran Canggu Bali

Planarian Canggu Bali Resort & Spa is a small, peaceful and beautiful place. The traditionally Balinese furnished villas, most of them with a private pool and beautiful gardens, fit well in this little paradise tucked away from it all.

This stunning property is not necessarily what you would expect when driving on the busy roads from the airport. Plataran Canggu has its own soul, a calmness and is the perfect place to relax. The Plataran Canggu is like a secret hideaway disturbed only by the twitter of birdsong and the humming of the crickets.

  • LOCATION

The location of the Plataran Canggu is in a tropical garden alongside a river. From the Ngurah Rai airport the drive is 30 minutes, without traffic, mind you the Bali traffic is bad. Plataran Canggu Resort & Spa is close to the beautiful beaches of Canggu, Seminak and Kuta. Canggu, a sleepy laid back seaside village, is the nearest village and beach, the distance is 15 minutes by car.

  • CHARME & STYLE

The resort is peaceful, beautiful, intimate and could have been in “another world”. Once you enter the hotel and grounds you are transported into an oasis of peace and tranquility. The villas are beautifully designed and the ground is full of exotic trees and plants. The villas are built like local houses, with traditional woodwork and high seilings. The atmosphere is calm, relaxed and friendly. The quality of the service from the staff is superb.

  • ROOMS

Plataran Canggu has 19 private traditional-style Balinese villas set in tropical gardens. The resort really pays attention tot the details in the rooms. The resort is so peaceful that you are guaranteed a good nights sleep.

The bathrooms are Bali style outdoor. There is something very special about showering or taking a bath outside in the garden.

  • SERVICE & FACILITIES

The Plataran Canggu offers a free shuttle back and forth to your wanted destination in the area. The hotel also offers cooking, meditation and yoga classes. Tours like a temple sunset tour and a spiritual tour can be arranged by the Plataran. The hotel offer bikes free of charge, grab one and take a ride to discover small hidden gems surrounding Plataran Canggu. The hotel has a beautiful spa, Padma by Plataran. Unfortunately I didn't have time to try the spa but the menu was tempting with facials, hand and feet treatment, body scrubs and wraps in addition to Balinese massage.

Take part in the traditional daily ritual of the Balinese offering at the Plataran Canggu. Explore the history and importance of Hindu religious ceremonies and learn about the daily offerings and traditional customs used during ceremonies. Free of charge is also Balinese dance lessons and you can dress yourself up like a Balinese King or Queen in traditional costumes and have your photo taken by the in-house photographer.

  • FOOD & DRINKS

Plataran Canggu has great Indonesian food from appetizers, main dishes to dessert. A good selection of western food is also on the menu. The breakfast was wonderful with a wide selection of exotic fruits and eggs made to order, it is also possible to have what Bali is famous for, a floating breakfast in you own pool, I will for sure try that another time.

Although the location of the Plataran Canggu resort isn´t on the beach, the peace, calmness, the beauty of the villas and gardens, the friendly staff and the delicious food more than compensate for the a little off location. If you want to get an essence of true Bali life, architecture and nature I can recommend the Plataran Canggu Bali highly. The resort is a tranquil haven away from the noice, dust and stress of the outside world, it´s the perfect place to rest. I had a wonderful time here and would stay again.
