love boutique hotels and lucky me found this little pearl in this big city. The Myst has a spice of old Saigon in a very modern setting. From the moment you escape the busy streets of Ho Chi Minh City, you know you are somewhere very special. Design elements reclaimed from the old Saigon shipyards mixed with modern design makes The Myst the cool place to stay in this vibrant and busy city.
LOCATION
Just of the end off Ho Chi Minh City´s Dong Khoi Street. The hotel name already says enough, as Dong Khoi is the most famous and fashionable street in the city. The location is close to the Saigon River, in the middle of everything and close to the Opera House, Notre Dame Cathedral and the wonderful old Central Post Office.
CHARME & STYLE
Great modern, stylish hotel with an incredible Vietnamese feel. Great architecture, antiques, modern details and lots of green plants makes the Myst a very unique place. The staff at the Myst were extremely helpful.
ROOMS
Great size and beautifully decorated. There was a spa bath on the balcony covered in green plants, imagine how good it feels to jump into your private jacuzzi after a long day exploring the city. The rooms sure live up to the expectation of being the best boutique hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. The rooms have wooden furniture, arty traditional details, a modern Japanese toilet with a heated seat, great beds and an excellent rain shower.
SERVICE & FACILITIES
A great rooftop terrace with plenty of sun loungers, a pool and a bar on the 13th floor makes this hotel the gem I was hoping to find in Ho Chi Minh City. Great view to the lit commercial buildings at night and to the river at day. The Myst has a gym as well and a sauna.
FOOD & DRINKS
The hotel restaurant is on the 12th floor and from here you can enjoy a great view of the Saigon River. Breakfast, lunch, fra afternoon tea and dinner is served in the restaurant. The selection for breakfast especially the Vietnamese dishes made me wish it was morning the night before. A must is to try the famous noodle soup pho.
I did a lot of research for hotels before this trip, and I am proud to say that I was able to find what I am sure is the very best boutique hotel in Ho Chi Minh City all by myself. I absolutely love everything about this hotel. The Myst is a heaven of peace in a very busy city.
