Natura 2000 natural park by the Dreva river

Chocolate Village by the River is located in the Natura 2000 natural park by the Drava river. The resort is 5 km from the city of Maribor, 5 km from the Pohorje Cable Car, the largest Slovenian ski resort, the summer bike park and hiking ground and also 5 km from the largest shopping center in this part of Slovenia.

The name Chocolate Village by the River says more than that the location is close to the river, the resort is actually in a chocolate village only 5 steps away from Teta Frida - Aunt Frida´s chocolate factory.

A modern luxurious glamping resort with only 11 units

The lodges are in matt black steel combined with wood giving the resort an industrial and cool look. The lodges are tucked into the environment and you get the feeling that you are as close as you can come to the nature. Afraid of heights? In the Chocolate Village by the River you can choose to sleep in the treetops or on the ground. This stunning retreat offers three distinct types of glamping accommodations, each crafted to immerse you in the tranquil landscape while providing modern luxuries. The Forastero cabins, situated between rolling hills by the river, offer a peaceful escape surrounded by lush greenery and the gentle flow of water. For a more elevated experience, the Criollo panoramic treehouses perch high among the tree canopies, offering breathtaking views and the feeling of floating within the forest itself. Finally, the Trinitario houses, perfect for couples or those seeking extra indulgence, come complete with a private jacuzzi and a cozy fireplace, right next to the glamping site's pool—ideal for unwinding after a day of adventure. The treetop lodges have bedrooms facing there river. Waking up in the morning with this panoramic view sure puts you in a great mood.

The lodges located on the ground have the beds on the second floor in the back, making space for a spacious living room in front.

All the lodges are equipped with a kitchenette, some bigger than others, but in all its possible to make your own meals. I was treated with the largest lodge, one of the two with a fireplace and a private outdoor hot tub. Lots of chocolate surprises - chocolate beer, gin, cosmetics and soap to mention some of them. Chocolate massage is available, a first time experience for me. I didn't try but its also possible to soak in a chocolate bath and relax in the sauna in the spa unit in the treetop.

The Chocolate village by the River has a swimmingpool with sunbeads for relaxing days in the natural park overlooking the river.

There is a gourmet bar in the middle of the village offering local wine. Steps away next to the chocolate factory is the Teta Frida shop where ice-cream, coffee and chocolate can be bought all day.
