La Residencia Puerto Hotel is in Tarifa. The city is actually Europe´s Southernmost point. The location is as close to Africa that it´s possible to get if you are in Spain. From the rooftop terrace the view of the ocean is breathtaking. If the weather is good it is possible to see Morocco in Africa very clear. La Residencia is located between the port and the old town and close to beaches, restaurants and shopping. The beauty of the hotel, the location and the friendly staff makes La Residencia Puerto in Tarifa a truly remarkable place.
La Residencia Puerto Tarifa
As the name La Resicencia Puerto indicates, the hotel is close to the puerto. The walk to the ferry that will take you to Tangier Morocco, takes no more than two minutes. La Residencia is close to the Old Town of Tarifa and close to the stunning beaches. The view of the Straights of Gibraltar from the rooftop terrace is amazing. Africa is incredible close and on a clear day or night you see Morocco so clear.
Moroccan style and a shelter for the wind
Feel the stress slide away the minute you arrive. The wind is pretty heavy in Tarifa but this hotel has taken action and build a courtyard to relax in protected from the wind. Being so close to Morocco, the interior is more moroccan than spanish. You will see that in the furniture, in the colors, on the textiles and in the style. The rooms are light and spacious, modern, comfortable, peaceful and decorated in white, sand color and turquoise, the same colors of the old town in Tarifa, the sand on the beach and the sea. It´s all in the details!
Rooftop terrace with pool and view
There is a rooftop terrace with infinity pool with view of the port and of the Straight of Gibraltar. The bar on the rooftop terrace is open if it´s not too windy. La Residencia has a spa with treatments and a indoor pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The visitors book is full og compliments. I do think this hotel is suitable for all ages, it´s a gem!
The buffet breakfast each morning was delicious. Eggs made the way you them, fresh fruit, fresh orange juice, pastries and good coffee. I enjoyed dinner one night in the restaurant and the food was great.
La Residencia also has a small but very charming bar.
My plan was to visit Morocco from Tarifa. Due to very heavy wind the boats crossing the straight of Gibraltar were not in service. I therefore need to visit Tarifa again to cross the Straight of Gibraltar and I will definitely stay at the La Residencia Puerto in Tarifa next time also because I believe it is the best hotel in town.
