Amsterdam – Benji´s restaurant
Where to eat Amsterdam
Benji’s Amsterdam is a peaceful green oasis with an urban feel and great food. Currently you can find the restaurant in three locations in the city – East, West and New West. The walls are filled with art from young local artists. There are green plants all over the place that made me dream of Bali. Stone and steel adds an industrial feel and it all adds up to an urban jungle setting for eating brunch like a local in Amsterdam.
The ambiance at Benji’s Amsterdam perfectly complements it´s diverse menu – lush greenery and earthy tones create a cozy yet trendy atmosphere, ideal for escaping the city’s hustle. The menu doesn’t just aim to impress visually, each dish is packed with vibrant flavors that tell their own story, drawing on spices from Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

The menu gave me a headache with a large variety of dishes inspired from cultures and cuisines from all over the world. Everything is beautifully prepared and the food looks as good as it tastes. From fresh sushi rolls to hearty Middle Eastern-inspired mezze and colorful bowls, it’s clear the chefs have put thought into catering to varied tastes. Whether you’re craving a light bite or a full meal, Benji’s has a dish that’ll make you want to linger and explore the menu again and again. High, light and lush with plants, this is the space for lunches and breakfasts featuring healthy bowls, comfy salads and mashed avocado sandwiches.

The Avocado Toast with Egg is a crowd-pleaser. With smooth avocado topped by a beautifully poached egg, it’s the kind of dish that’s as satisfying to look at as it is to eat. The yolk’s runniness adds a rich depth that pairs wonderfully with the avocado’s creaminess. I suggest the avocado toast for a light breakfast or lunch.

One of the standouts on Benji’s menu is the Salmon Sandwich. Freshly prepared, this sandwich combines perfectly cured smoked salmon with a touch of cream cheese, layered with crisp greens and a sprinkle of dill. It’s served on a hearty slice of whole grain bread, balancing rich and refreshing flavors for a satisfying bite.

A taste of the Mediterranean
The Sandwich with Mozzarella and Parma Ham is a flavor-packed delight. Silky, fresh mozzarella meets the saltiness of Parma ham, layered with a hint of basil pesto. This Italian-inspired sandwich is served on soft, toasted bread, and the combination of textures and flavors makes each bite a little journey through the Mediterranean.

For avocado lovers, Benji’s Avocado Toast with Bacon offers a savory twist on the classic. Creamy avocado is generously spread over crusty toast, with perfectly crisp, smoky bacon adding a deliciously salty contrast. It’s a dish that feels simple yet elevated, with each bite delivering that familiar comfort with a bit of crunch.
Fresh juices at Benjis Amsterdam
The drink menu contains fresh juices, smoothies, coffee and for the big brunch celebration, alcoholic drinks.

Benji’s coffee is crafted to perfection, with each cup brewed from carefully selected beans that deliver a rich, aromatic flavor. Sipped alongside those waffles or just on its own, it’s a comforting indulgence that rounds off the Benji’s experience.
Amsterdam Benji´s restaurant
No meal is complete without something sweet. Not only beautiful to look at but the waffle tasted great too. I will for sure go back to Benji´s and eat like a local the next time I visit Amsterdam. It´s a popular place so a reservation is needed to skip the line.

Benji’s waffles are a treat worth savoring. Golden and crisp on the outside, yet soft and fluffy inside, they’re a perfect blend of texture and taste. Topped with fresh berries, a dusting of powdered sugar, or a drizzle of warm syrup, these waffles feel like a sweet escape with every bite.
